The effect of adding alloy to hot dip galvanizing

Hot dip galvanizing can protect metal effectively and make it corrosion resistant. Sometimes, in order to further improve the corrosion resistance of metals, we usually add aluminum, chromium and other alloys to the zinc solution. What is the effect of adding metal to the zinc solution of hot galvanizing? Today we are going to focus on the effects of alloys on hot dip galvanized zinc solution.

First: the effect of aluminum on hot galvanizing. The metals of aluminum and zinc are next to each other in activity, and both are more advanced. In hot galvanizing with aluminum, the aluminum in zinc solution is the element that has the strongest influence on hot galvanizing. Therefore, adding aluminum into zinc solution can produce a thicker coating, and there are both pure zinc layer and iron - zinc alloy layer, so the corrosion resistance is better.

Second: the effect of lead on hot galvanizing. Always add some lead to the zinc solution when hot galvanizing. In a 450-degree zinc solution, lead has a solubility limit of 1.5%. If the saturated concentration is exceeded and lead is added further, lead layers will appear at the bottom of the zinc steel. The presence of lead can also reduce the viscosity and surface tension of zinc solution, so the infiltration capacity of zinc solution to iron surface can be increased. When hot galvanizing, adding lead to the zinc solution can make the surface of the coating obtain beautiful large zincation, and improve the condition of zinc-solution to the steel plate, so as to shorten the infiltration time of the strip steel.

Third: antimony on hot galvanization, zinc solution to add a small amount of antimony, can obtain a beautiful galvanized layer.

Fourth: the effect of tin on hot galvanizing, adding tin to zinc solution can not only reduce the melting point of zinc solution, prolong the solidification time of zinc solution, but also obtain a beautiful galvanized layer.

In a word, some alloys are used in the zinc solution of hot dip galvanizing , which greatly improves the efficiency of hot-dip galvanization, saves time cost and makes galvanized products more beautiful.
